About Us

Cotswold Spring Brewing Co. is an independent brewery established in June 2005. We have worked extremely hard to develop our much envied reputation as being one of the leading award winning craft breweries in the South West.

 

As members of SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) and CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) we live and breathe beer making. We are passionate about delivering real craftsmanship and beers and ales that don’t just taste great, but are made with character and contain NO artificial preservatives, flavourings or colourings.

 

Our Brewing Process 

 

1:   Select only the best ingredients

2:   Add a characterful master brewer (Nik 'the hat') and traditional brewing equipment

3:   Heat pure filtered spring water to around 70 degrees C

4:   Mix this fresh heated water with your specialist selection of malts and leave for an hour or so

5:   Drain off the malt extract (wort) into your large kettle (copper)

6:   Boil with your secret selection of hops for another hour or so

7:   Drain off and cool the resulting crafted wort into a huge container (fermenter)

8:   Add your individual strain of yeast

9:   Leave to ferment for 4 to 6 days (depending on the beer)

10: Drain off into casks and allow to stand for a few days more

11: Drink...!
